and are a single mother to a child, are Social Services automatically informed?

I'm sitting in hospital with my friend who has been given a 72-hour section. Her daughter, who is well looked after and a credit to her, is with her dad tonight.

I've moved this thread over to Chat as I haven't received any responses in MH.

Social Services are supposed to be informed and if procedures are followed, will be.

SS want to keep the care consistent for the child and will look at the arrangements made and if there is no issues, the child will be left in the care of the person picked by the Parent.

Don't see them as the ememy, they can provide Nursery funding, if needed.

There is a shortage of Foster Carers and they have more pressing cases than a child who is being adequately cared for.

They always look to place within the Family.
