Which IPad?

Looking at buying a refurbished IPad.
Mainly used for kids, browsing etc.

Which one is the best older IPad 3/4 or a mini? Or does it matter? I'm clueless...!

Just be aware that if you buy an older model the updates may not be available or may not be available for long. This can stop apps working. The mini is good for taking out and about but the full size is better generally. The air/air 2 are still pretty good
