Present if unable to make party

My 2 year old dd has had invite to a child’s birthday party from nursery. I haven’t heard her mention him before this week. We’re unable to go should I put a card and a present in his drawer. I don’t think I’d expect a present if it was the other way round but this is the first nursery invite so I don’t know the norm!

nah, not needed. I do for close friends who come to the house, but not otherwise.

Not unless the children were already very close friends. Just politely RSVP.
