That's an injection? It can delay return of fertility if you want any children in the future. It also causes thinning of the bones. I didn't get on with the other injection (depo provera) as it made me bleed all the time and put on loads of weight

Yes it’s an injection but sounds better than the depo one
No I think I’m done now (5 c sections 😳)

Still has the same side effects from the looks of it as it's the same hormone used

dementedpixie · 28/01/2019 15:52

Is it just a lower dose jab that you inject yourself?

Hedgehog80 · 28/01/2019 16:06

I think so I’m just not 100% happy with cerazette but obviously need something and this seems a good option but I think it’s relatively new ?

The above link is from 2014 so must have been about for a wee while

My doctors only gave me the options of cerazette, depo and mirena coil I didn’t even know there was any other options, I’m going to ask about it as cerazette although ok has caused skin issues (arms and legs weirdly) and is also like to not have to worry about forgetting !

What skin problems? I got horrid cystic acne on Cerazette, so asked to try a different POP as I can't take the combined due to migraines. They told me it wouldn't make much difference, but prescribed Noriday instead. No acne. No periods. Happy me.

ReaganSomerset · 28/01/2019 23:05

Have you considered getting your tubes tied, if you're sure you are done? No artificial hormones at all that way. And no worry about forgetting.

I have multiple infected lesions which having ruled out everything else is being put down to cerazette 🤷‍♀️ I’m unsure myself but it did start when I started taking them

I was sterilised after baby #4 and actually had it reversed for #5 and I couldn’t do it again it was too final for me. I think I need something reliable yet not permanent
I’m not at all keen on a coil as have a lot of gynae issues and feel like I should leave that area well alone 🤣 but I can’t have the combined pill either so I think my options are progesterone based

I have only had on injection of sayana press. Unfortunately it caused hair loss in me. I'm disappointed as it worked for my heavy periods and pms symptoms.

On the other hand I have a friend who is on her third injection and loves it.
