Significant birthdays.... what gift would you like from a close friend

I have loads of friends with 50th birthdays coming up this year and I want to get nice things for them without crippling myself financially.

For some of them, I have enough photos from over the years to do something fun with an album, but I'd also like to get a gift. I'd be looking to spend £30 to £50, depending on closeness of the friendship.

Ideas I've had so far:

Diptyque candle
Leather wrist strap purse/bag thigs
Rosebush

I definitely don't want to get:
Champagne
Picture frame
Voucher

Have you had any really nice gifts, or given any that you know were really appreciated - in that kind of price bracket? They are all female and none of them 'need' anything if that makes sense.

I'd prefer a lunch out together

I'd always prefer a nice day out to a physical gift.

Thank you Whisky2014 and INeedNewShoes I should have said that I work full-time and I'm a single mum, so the chances of me being able to pull a day off work for a lunch or nice day out are very slim. It has to be a gift.

A personalised painting - I just got one commissioned for my best mates 30th of her childhood home. She cried when she opened it. First time I've ever seen her cry in 18 years!! I'm going to get another commissioned of NYC for another friend for her 30th as she lived there for 5 years. I know a great artist who does these for £40. I got a friend who likes nice jewellery a number of the stackers jewellery boxes.

A number of my friends clubbed together and got me a designer handbag I haad lusted after for years.

I think a rose bush is a lovely idea.
