Addresses and place names that sound beautiful

I just sold something on EBay to someone whose house has neither a street number nor a street name. At first I thought there was something missing, but I looked up the postcode and it's actually correct. The address is:

Buyer's name
Cottage name
Tiny village
Nearest town about 9 miles away
Postcode

As a Londoner I'm intrigued by this! I knew there were plenty of houses around with just names instead of numbers, but I never even thought about streets with no name. Imagine living in such a small village that the postman still knows how to find all your houses. It sounds so pretty, I want to live there!

Equally there are plenty of places in big cities that are named after beautiful locations in the Lake District, but the city places aren't actually that nice. I find it intriguing! Smile

Well you only need a post code and house/flat number to uniquely identify an address, so in theory, if someone addressed something to

Annoyance
House/Flat No
Annoyance Postcode,

it would get to you.

But yes, if you have an area with few addresses and a regular postie, they will remember all the houses even without what looks like a 'proper' address.
