Not sleeping on a Sunday night.

Does anyone else get this? Taking propanalol for anxiety, anxiety which has improved a lot and I don’t feel the effects of usually, except for a Sunday night.

I drop off around 10.30, and then I’m awake an hour later until the early hours. Last Sunday I had an upset stomach and was being sick (normal anxiety symptoms for me), this week no sickness but still an upset stomach.

I have diazepam downstairs (leftover from when I was starting antidepressants a while ago) but I’m so reluctant to take them.

Does anyone else struggle more on a Sunday or is it just me? Sad

I slept OK thanks ! Phenergan helped but I only took one .. I could have taken 2 and think I will do that next time . Would have liked to have fallen asleep earlier and got up earlier but huge improvement on last week

I’ve been up since 4, every Sunday I get off to sleep ok then find randomness to worry about from the early hours on. Sometimes I manage to get back off for an hour depending on how early I’ve woken up.

Did you not feel completely dazed when you woke up after taking Nytol? I believe that is the issue with taking it that it effects you the morning after.

I have anxiety too and when it flares up I really struggle on Sundays - I really enjoy my job, so for me it's the fear of doing something wrong and messing it up that keeps me awake at night.

I've found that having very little caffeine, getting up pretty early, being as physically active as possible and making sure the house is clean and tidy, clothes ironed, packed lunch made, really helps me to feel calm and prepared.

not drinking coffee/tea after sunday breakfast helps.

I get this and I don’t even work Mondays. Sleep so fitfully and always wake early.....

crimsonlakes I took them quite early because I heard they could make you feel groggy the next day.

Took them at 8.45 and went to bed an hour later, although I was tired from just after 9. Woke up at 6.30 with a clear head.

I’m sorry there’s so many struggling but it does make me feel less alone when I’m awake in the early hours.

I felt groggy for a couple of weeks but otherwise no Smile
I was prescribed it for other reasons and needed to sleep generally, the antidepressant side help my mood along side counselling.
