Alternative to party bags?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn’t sure where to put it.

DS’s 4th birthday - mixture of boys and girls from nursery.

Any suggestions for something other than plastic tat to send home afterwards?

We did a book and sweetie cone last year so wanting something a bit different... but also easy and straight forward because this party is already turning me grey!

Craft kit from Poundland

Paper bag with sweets and stickers in is my standard these days.

No tat, no one has ever complained...

I went to the pound shop a few years ago and bought beachball/footballs for everyone. Not easy to get home - I made several trips and bought about 8 each time - but they were very successful.

Footballs. Simple and cheap. Went down a treat with everyone at my DS’s. (I now have 500 balls in my house but I won’t dwell on that 😂).

One of the following:
Big tube of smarties
Colouring pencils & pad
Play doh
Slime
Cake mix pack
Seeds and plastic pot

this we did something like this one year which went down very well.

converseandjeans · 27/01/2019 23:15

Oh yes you can order those footballs on ebay deflated and pump them up.

Chocolate85 · 27/01/2019 23:15

@Enidblyton1 I like your thinking 😝
I bought mine from amazon and pumped them myself but even easier if you buy them ready.

Colouring book , notebook, pencil.

Poundland sometimes have branded toys in. Hot Wheels, Shopkins etc.

I did a pencil case filled with sweets and tsum tsums with sweets for a party. £1 each then the sweets.

Enidblyton1 · 27/01/2019 23:17

The lady in the pound shop thought I was a bit crazy by the time I went in for the third loads of balls Grin

MsSuperExcited · 27/01/2019 23:19

Helium balloons?

Doubles up as decorations and party gifts. Sweets as weights if you like?

MuppetFamily · 27/01/2019 23:19

I bought some small cotton bags from 'Clever Baggers', ironed on an appropriate picture/logo and filled with some sweets. Hopefully they can be used again for pens and stuff and at least it isn't more plastic going to landfill.

A packet of seeds and a few small cardboard pots (your ds could decorate them) that can be bought at wilko. Something like sunflowers are always good.

Or a little notebook and pencil.

Threeminis · 28/01/2019 00:06

I did a metal bank with 20p in it and a packet of Haribo. Went down a treat!
