It has never shown up on any of my statements before they take the money the day of delivery as far as I’m aware ?
Tonight I have 6p in account but wanted to place an order for this week once money has gone in and it won’t let me??

usually when i've made orders through tesco online, they take something like a pound to do a live card check and then take the full amount on the day of delivery

BaconPringles · 27/01/2019 22:41

Could it be they require the money and hold it as a pre authorisation ?

stressssedd · 27/01/2019 22:44

I’ve placed orders before for a higher amount than has been in the account at time of order
But never as low as 6p so I’m assuming it’s a test payment of a small amount. Just assumed I’d have seen it on statements before

Yes, it's a pound that they pre-authorise.

cowfacemonkey · 27/01/2019 22:46

They do for petrol (although only realised this for the first time last week and got all excited that I’d maybe got a full tank of petrol for a pound!)

Celebelly · 27/01/2019 22:46

And you won't see it on statements because they don't actually take the money. It will show in pending payments but it doesn't actually come out of your account.

Redglitter · 27/01/2019 22:48

Yes they do. I did an order the other night as its so close to payday i was very careful the total was what was left in my account.

Unfortunately i didnt factor the bloody test amount. Meant when it came to pay the next day the bank knocked back my payment and i didnt get my order - all for the sake of 60p. Would have fine if they hadn't taken their blooming £2 authorisation fee

DragginBallsEEEE · 27/01/2019 23:44

£2 for Tesco but only a penny at Asda if you are able to order from there?

IncyWincyGrownUp · 27/01/2019 23:47

£2, and it sits in pending transactions for an absolute age before it disappears. The fact it sits there for so long bothers me more than them taking it. So inefficient.
