Teaching English online - worth it?

Before I had the children i spend several years abroad doing TEFL and have done several summer schools here in the UK over the past few years. I have a TEFL Cert (120 hrs) which I studied for back in 2006 and a BA.
Since the kids arrived and I had to stay put in the UK, I've been working mainly in teaching support in schools and currently work in a SEN school. Pay is not great and I did get paid a fair bit more for teaching but I've not been able to find ongoing work in it around school hours/holidays and where we live.

So, I've been wondering about teaching online and how it would fit around the children (3 at primary). I have a childminder at present which costs a bomb so wondering if I'd be better off picking the kids up myself and working from home.

Has anyone tried this and is it possible to make a living off it?
