Why am I always so hungry?

I've had a big roast dinner and a pudding and I feel starving. Its like I've not eaten a thing. I've been like this for a while. I eat my evening meal then just feel like I could eat it all over again. I've not gained or loss weight, not particularly thirsty or tired. Had very sore boobs on Friday. Seriously hope I'm not pregnant.

Said about not being thirsty as I know excessive hunger could be a sign of diabetes.

If you have blood sugar control issues you can feel hungry all the time from the chronic high insulin.

Get fasting blood glucose, insulin and HbA1c tested at your GPs.

Too many carbs and sugars? I used to be exactly like this until a significantly reduced my carbs. I don’t wake up hungry now either.

Doobydoobydooyeh · 27/01/2019 20:14

I do have too much sugar and was meant to be cutting down as I did have high blood sugar a few years ago. Got blood tests again soon.

Overactive thyroid? Anyone got thyroid issues on your family?

mando12345 · 27/01/2019 20:18

Good luck with getting your insulin tested by your gp, that ain't going to happen!
OP if you've had blood sugar issues in the past I would try cutting down drastically on your sugar and carbohydrates,

I get what feels like hunger with acid reflux/indigestion. I dont ever get the burning acid in my throat just a churning feeling in my stomach. Something to do with my esophagus maybe. Could it be that?

Fusioluxe · 27/01/2019 20:31

Titsywoo My sister gets that. Like a hunger pang but not quite.

DONTPICKTHEMILKSPOTS · 27/01/2019 20:53

Do you take any medication?
I was permanently starving so gained a stone. It wasn't until I stopped taking Sertraline and the hunger went that I realised it was the culprit.

Doobydoobydooyeh · 27/01/2019 20:55

Only omeprazole for reflux cos I kept being randomly sick and having upset stomach. Its stopped that. I have had two doctors appointments cancelled in the last few months as I wanted to get this investigated. That and the fact I wake up about 4 times a night for a week but I've been like that for over 25 years. I have regular blood tests and thyroid and blood sugar have been fine lately.
