Please could someone give me some advice?

My partner is moving out soon and is just getting money together for his own place. I am very worried that nobody will give him a tenancy due to his poor credit history and I’m going to be stuck with him forever
He refuses to move in with his parents too.

Does credit history actually affect someone’s ability to rent privately? He has no CCJs, if that makes any difference at all.

If he has no CCJs, just missed payments or defaults etc he will be fine as long as he is honest and volunteers the information to the letting agent and the referencing agent, rather than waiting for things to be found out at the checking stage. That is providing he passes the affordability checks. Good luck!

Ahh thank you. Would a reference from our current landlord (council) help him too? We’ve always had a clear account.
