Apps to sell books

Is it worth trying one of the apps where you scan in your books and then get a quote before you post them off?
Online reviews seem mixed.
Tbh I'm not that bothered about the money but like the idea that my books will end up somewhere where they will be read. I often feel that they end up collecting dust in charity shops.

Don't know the answer, but am interested in the same thing.

Sorry, I know this isn't what you're asking but are there any specialist charity bookshops near you?

DH works in one and they are shit hot at getting donations out on shelves and rotating stock because that's what keeps people coming in to the shop. If something doesn't sell after X weeks it gets sent off to one of those bulk book buying places to be sold for 1p on Amazon or whatever they do. Nothing sits around long enough to collect dust.

That's really helpful. Thanks.

Are there particular charity shops that have better systems than others. Some of ours are on a very tired high street and seem to have very few customers...

Just seen that some charity shops will collect. That might be best...

I've used We BuyBooks twice recently to sell revision resources and music books. It was so simple and good to get some money for books that we're gathering dust. They have 10-15% extra days every now and then so worth waiting for one of those to get a little bit more.
