Breastfeeding and TTC

I feed my ten month old several times a day/night at the moment so unsurprisingly don't have my periods back yet

I'm hoping to continue feeding her until she's 2 or more if she still wants to but imagine it will naturally get less (she eats loads of solids!)

I'd be interested to know when your cycles came back after or during feeding (as I know they can return once feeding is reduced)? We'd like to TTC for a brother or sister for her when they do

After both DC my cycle returned when I cut down on the daytime feeding to return to work, around 13-14 months both times. DC2 was conceived when DC1 was around 15 months old. Both DCs continued to bf until they were around 3.

If you don't cut down on bf, the usual spacing between children tends to be 3-4 years (from the 'Breastfeeding made simple' book), but everyone is different.

My period didn't come back until DD was 17 months, I was still feeding her through the night too. Got pregnant first month ttc. I was quite shocked!

Also, I was able to continue feeding until DD turned 2. Then I got really bad aversion and she sort of went off it anyway

My cycle came back at 18m. I continued to feed until DC2 was 2y 8m, she self weaned when I was about 15w with DC3.

I was EBF (including frequent night feeds) when my period returned at 4 weeks postnatally

My periods returned when DS was 15m and I went straight back into my regular 28 day cycle. I got pregnant as soon as we started trying when he was almost 3.

I was bf and had had no period when dc2 was conceived.

13 months between my sister and I "breastfeeding is NOT a contraception" my mother always warned me 😀

Still BFing my 2yo. Periods came back after 7 months, when he started solid...(well he started at 6)

Period came back 14 months after DC1. She weaned at 16 months and I got pregnant the next cycle.

I think TTC while BF is more effective after 12 months but I do have friends who had to fully wean to get pregnant. The ones who are hardcore attachment parents who cosleep and don’t night wean didn’t get pregnant until 3 years.

My periods returned after 6 weeks even though i was exclusively breastfeeding. Dc4 was concieved when dc3 was 5 months and had not been weaned.

My period came back once DS stopped daytime bf. I didn't actually ovulate until he completely stopped bf.

My periods started again at round about 13 - 14 months both times.

I was still breastfeeding DS2 when I got pregnant with DS3, DS2 would have been about 2.5 years old then.
