What the feck happened to my finger?

I burnt my finger getting something out of the oven, it came up in a huge clear blister and while I was at the Doctors (for something else) I mentioned it. He didn't really say whether to pop it or not so I didn't, but now it has gone dark brown and hard, like leather! It's been like this for about a week now, DH wants to take a Stanley knife to it, but as you can imagine, I'm not a huge fan of home surgery 😧

does it hurt?

go see a dr. looks a bit like dead tissue. you don't want it to spread.

Yes It's dead tissue. See the GP, he'll probably cut the dead flesh off and dress it.

Ah you see that's one of the problems, I have no feeling in that finger since I had an accident as a toddler, so it might be painful for some people but not me

Looks pretty normal to me, blister with small amount of blood in it, as the fluid is reabsorbed the leftover blood cells clot and it goes leathery. Does it look like there's a scab under the skin?

Did myself a full fingertip blood blister the other week, about that size but entirely blood (accident with pliers). That set to an odd leathery consistency but much darker than yours. Took ten days or so to work its way up to the surface and be removable in bits.
