What options do I have for getting a deposit?

Can I withdraw money from my superannuated pension?

What other means are there to get money for a house deposit? Am I allowed to use a loan?

We went through all this because it was taking us so long to save, and unfortunately no, you can't use a loan. If you get any part from someone else they have to sign a legal form saying that it's a gift and they don't expect it back (and they have to show that it comes from savings, not a loan).

If you can draw down money from your pension (neither of ours would let us unfortunately) then you could probably use that.

I'm really struggling with this - I feel like everyone I know (most of them younger than me) own their own homes but I am single so have only one income and I currently rent - finding it impossible to save anything for a deposit. It's so hard!

It took me ages to save for a deposit 😔 in the end I bought with a 5% deposit. It means you don’t get a great rate but it just would have taken me so long to buy otherwise.
