13 week old won’t take more than 100ml

Hi ladies
As the title says - my 13 week old won’t take more than 100ml at each feed. He’ll occasionally take 12ml
but generally it’s 100ml or less. I try offering the bottle over a long period of time but once he’s taken 100ml he doesn’t want anymore. This means he still wakes regularly at night for feeds! My question is - is this habit/snack eating - or is it because he just has a small stomach and that’s all he can take? A friend of mines 13 week old can take 200ml!
Thanks x

How many feeds a day? I seem to recall the rough guide for that age was 6 feeds x 120 ml and then up to 180 ml. I’d be surprised by a 3 month old taking 200 ml at a go. What does it say on your packaging?

They do have tiny stomachs and have evolved to feed frequently. 13 weeks is also a growth spurt period which would lead to more frequent feeding overnight.

So 3.5oz. Is that not in a normal range really? How regularly is he feeding over night? Again it's totally normal to need night feeds until they're much older.

I think your expectations are a bit off. Small babies need small, frequent feeds. Expect to feed at night for another 3 months at least.

I would be concerned about a 3 month old drinking 200ml to be honest, that's a baby at risk of overfeeding.

Your baby sounds perfectly normal, at 12 weeks their stomachs are still small and they need small frequent feeds. Waking at night for a feed is likely to go on for sometime and is very normal

That’s great. Thanks all! He feeds every 2 hours at night - he wakes like clockwork!

He takes approx 5-6 feeds between waking (7am-ish) to bedtime (7pm-ish) he then takes around 5 feeds between 10pm and waking up
