Woke up at 1am with agonising stomach pains. D+V stated within minutes.

Am currently sat on bathroom floor shivering. Have been puking into the bath while on loo Blush. Have sick in my hair 😩.

DC are asleep, we're meant to be doing stuff tomorrow. And I have work Monday, relatively new job which I'm loathe to take time off from but it's in a healthcare setting and I don't want to make people sick.

Gah 😭

Did you chose your username for this?

Poor you. Sounds like you’ve eaten something bad, rather than a bug.

Drink plenty of warm fluids (more gentle on the stomach than cold). Do you have any ginger or mint herbal teas. Either with a little honey in, might help settle things down.

Quick shower, back to bed, and a duvet day tomorrow.

Hope you feel better.

Alanamackaree · 27/01/2019 03:43

Oh that’s rough. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

Njordsgrrrl · 27/01/2019 03:47

It's getting out of your system if you can take comfort in that? Horrible for you though 😕

kateandme · 27/01/2019 04:27

deepb reathes op.just keep taking calming breaths.i know its hard and painful and shit.but try not to worry about how or what is next or even Monday! that is a day away.
think how quickly this came.it could go just as quick.
so you need to be as ready and kind to yourself as possible.that means trying to keep warm.rested and drinking and then when you can some food.dry toast rich teas etc.dont exhaust yourself worrying.
kids are selfish.but they are also sometimes lovely little people.explain to them how poorly mummy is and that its got to be a duvet day today.
how old are they?would they like to play house, nurse, chef.

thaegumathteth · 27/01/2019 05:07

Can you get some water to sip and a thin blanket for a bit of comfort without making any fever worse?

Hope you feel better soon. Remember these bugs do usually pass fairly quickly.

flumpybear · 27/01/2019 05:45

I've had norovirus a couple of tones they do pass quite quickly, do you have someone to help with children tomorrow

Rememberallball · 27/01/2019 07:19

So sorry to hear you’re unwell. Is there a way to contact work today? As you’re having d&v you cannot work until 48 hours after the last episode - and given it’s early Sunday morning, you definitely won’t be at work tomorrow (and possibly Tuesday depending on when this finally passes). This may be a short term 24 hour thing or it may be a full blown bug especially with the shivering (do you have a temp?) and, once you finally feel you can leave the bathroom you’ll probably feel wiped out for the rest of today and grateful for the rest once the kids are at school on monday.

For now, sip water slowly (sometimes chilled or hot is better than room temperature) and go for BRAT (bananas, rice, apples, tots) diet once you feel you can face food as it’s fairly bland but puts nutrients back into your system; avoid dairy as that can aggravate things.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon xx

Anti bac your phone if you're using it in the bathroom you've just been so poorly in would be my advice !
