Too young for a vasectomy

Why is it a 22 year old can decide they DO want children and can have them willy nilly yet a 22 year old who decides they DO NOT want children is told ‘no you cannot have a vasectomy’
Why are you mature enough at 22 to make a decision which has far reaching consequences for at least 2 other people for the rest of your and their lives?
Why are you not deemed mature enough to make a decision which will ultimately only effect you?

Trans kids are almost encouraged in some quarters to take steps which will end their fertility yet a healthy young man with no desire to have children (for many reasons) who tries to make sure this never happens is dismissed.

Just venting .........

Probably because those that do get it done at that age end up wanting a reversal later and it's a better use of NHS resources to set a lower age limit. You can always pay to have it done privately if a condom is too difficult.

Because chances are they will change their minds and it would be unethical in light of that for a doctor to perform the procedure.

For the same reason I’ve been told since I was 33 I was too young to be sterilised.

The NHS infantilises it’s patients.
