May - Tuscany or Cornwall?

I've priced up our two top choices for our holiday this year which is for 2 adults and 1 toddler going mid May.

The price is near on identical to go to Tuscany or to Cornwall.

I love Cornwall and Tuscany but Cornwall is edging forward to me because it means no flight with toddler.

DH wants more chance of hotter weather and loves the food in Italy so that's his preference.

I'm I deluded thinking Cornwall will be just as good a holiday as Tuscany?

I love both those places, so difficult choice. Cornwall lovely, plenty of places for fun with a toddler, but long car journey, and not great if the weather is poor. Tuscany will probably have glorious weather, but that plane journey and airport queues with a little one.....hmm. Not an easy one!

Tuscany if it's the same price definitely

Tuscany. I live in Cornwall, or weather is not great then really. Also, when toddler is not much older you'll be confined to school holiday dates so Cornwall may be more attractive then anyway.

Tuscany.

And I live in Cornwall.

Tuscany 100%. I lived in Cornwall for 3 years so appreciate its beauty etc but it's not Italy! The food alone would be worth the plane journey for me Grin

Tuscany without a doubt.

Tuscany! My sil lives in Cornwall and yes it's pretty but it's a full day of driving.

I took ds to France when he was 3 and we brought a couple of toys, some snacks etc and an iPad, the journey was fine. The waiting was balanced out by the excitement of going on a real aeroplane and the air stewards were lovely. We flew with Ryanair too and it was still fine.

Cornwall in May, when the sun shines and spring is springing all around, is one of the most beautiful places on earth. But the problem is that you're just as likely to get a grey and wet day than a sparkling blue one. I have never been to Tuscany apart from in high summer when it was very crowded, so can't comment on a comparison.

Cornwall is at its best in May and October IMO, because it always seems to have better weather and fewer people than in July and August. Whereas Tuscany is wonderful all year round so you can go any time!

Ok so Tuscany seems to be winning here.

Would the brexit nonsense affect anyone's decisions to book going abroad in May?
