Help! I don’t want this gin!

I’ve placed a Tesco order for click and collect and have just noticed that a lot more is pending on my bank account for this shopping than I expected. Turns out that while amending the order last night and enjoying some wine I’ve accidentally added 2 very fancy bottles of gin to the order! It’s over £60 worth! Blush Will I have to keep the gin or will they give me a refund if I tell them I don’t want them?

Just remove them from your order???

Ohffswhataplonker · 26/01/2019 12:19

The order has already gone through and is due to be collected this afternoon so it’s no longer there to amend Confused

If you’re turning up to pick up today say it was an accident and they should refund you.

Return to driver for a refund

thedevilinablackdress · 26/01/2019 12:21

Contact Tesco and ask then.

dementedpixie · 26/01/2019 12:22

OP is the driver if she's doing click and collect!

MrsJayy · 26/01/2019 12:23

Just say you clicked by mistake they should refund you. I think online shopping should have an have you been drinking warning Grin

MujosMama · 26/01/2019 12:25

If you're doing click and collect you'll be at the store anyway? So just park up and take them into customer services and say you ordered them by mistake, or you don't need them any more. They'll see the date on the receipt and shouldn't quibble a refund straight away

NotPennysBoat · 26/01/2019 12:25

This has happened to me more than once and always with alcohol.
Ring them and they can probably take it off before it's delivered. If not, just hand it back to the driver.

Ohffswhataplonker · 26/01/2019 12:25

Okay, I’m going to tell them I’ve added them accidentally and hope for the best.
@MrsJayy I agree! That will teach me won’t it! Grin

I am agog gin costs 30 quid and you considered 2 bottles a fantastic idea Grin

Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 26/01/2019 12:47

I do click and collect at Asda.

They have a system that, as you collect your shopping from the secure lockers you have the option to return unwanted items.

The interactive TV screen tells you to press on the items that you no longer want (interactive touchscreen). It then tells you to place them in a specific locker. As you do this the locker automatically locks behind you. Staff later retrieve the items and refund you.

I imagine all shops have a similar procedure.

Ohffswhataplonker · 26/01/2019 13:15

@Fairyfellowsmasterstroke hopefully they’ll have something like you describe, thank you.

@MrsJayy quite! Two identical bottles too! Especially considering the wine I was drinking only cost me about £6 in last weeks shop Blush Grin

It reminds me of a chap on the news. Woke up in the morning with a horrific hangover and an email confirming his trip of a life time to Peru.

MorningsEleven · 26/01/2019 14:47

I love a bit of drunk grocery shopping. I ordered 24 glass bottles of orange juice because, well because I was pissed and I'm an idiot.

Ohffswhataplonker · 26/01/2019 15:48

All sorted, I just needed to hand them back and they’ll sort a refund.

@Nubbled blimey, that was an expensive one!

@MorningsEleven Grin
