Been up with him since 5am. He won’t leave me alone. Wants to be on me all the time. Keeps saying ‘Mummy cuddle’ even though we’re already cuddling. He’ll settle down on my lap with my arm round him for about two minutes, then he stands up on me and says ‘mummy cuddle’. We are already cuddling you loon! Then we spend five minutes rearranging ourselves back into a comfy position. Rinse and repeat.

My arms and legs ache from holding him in the position he wants. I’ve been accidentally elbowed, kneed, kicked and head butted. I’m so tired of being touched and squirmed on I want to claw my own skin off.

I love him so, so, so much. He’s the most beautiful boy in the world. But I just need him to leave me alone for five minutes. The clingy-ness is intense and I’m shattered!

Is he unwell? I find mine gets especially clingy if they are becoming unwell

Doesn’t seem to be. I usually just ‘know’ when they’re not well. He’s always been a snuggly boy but this is next level.

I feel your pain. Just went out to the kitchen and of course my shadow spotted me slipping out and came in behind me. You could scream sometimes. Chances of weeing alone = zero. We also have to sleep with them at the moment. Being kneed in the back in a single bed is as fun as it sounds.

It's the age of separation anxiety. So I just try to be (outwardly) zen about it and remind myself it'll pass. But in fairness I work, so I get a break. Don't think I could cope if I was a SAHM and it was 24/7.

When DD (20m) had bronchiolitis recently she wanted to be cuddled upright.

Have you tried saying no?

LikeACowsOpinion · 26/01/2019 08:17

My 3yo is the same.

She is always one step behind me, no matter where I go or what I'm doing.
I can't remember a time where I was able to go to the toilet without her climbing onto my lap!

SAHM too, so no break here.

Good job I loves her Grin

My son was like this,I found it suffocating!
He's 8 now and still loves a cuddle but is not all over me like he was at 2.
