Lunch box ideas?

Ds will only eat ham or tuna sandwiches and I am trying to reduce his consumption of both ham and tuna.
Does anyone have any ideas that are not sandwiches? He doesn't eat veg other than cucumber either so savoury muffins, crudites etc don't get eaten nor do hard boiled eggs.
Ideas greatly appreciated!

What's wrong with tuna? How about other tinned fish - red salmon or mackerel? Sardine Paste?

My DS is much older but often has a pie for lunch - could you make a chicken pie and give him a cold slice?

Or just a piece of cold chicken with salad?

Would he eat chicken skewers? Chunks of chicken breast threaded on a skewer, if he would eat it with a flavour marinate first if not just plain. If it worked you could try interspersing with different veg.

Pesto contains nuts. My DC nursery won't allow pesto.

If he likes tuna he might like mackerel, the little tins with spicy tomato sauce, plain tomato sauce, bbq sauce, curry sauce etc might be worth trying, they're delicious.

If he likes slices of ham in his sandwiches he might like slices of chicken or beef. Things not too different to what he eats already.

Sweetcorn often goes down well with kids, and cheese and ketchup sandwiches work for mine.

If he likes curry how about coronation chicken sandwich or wrap? Or his usual curry but fairly dry?

You can make good ‘pesto’ without nuts or pine nuts - more like pistou really but lovely on pasta. Lots of recipes online.

Could you try quorn ham sandwiches? Or the thin chicken slices.

Dd2 has just plain cold pasta btw. She has fruit, veggies, a bit of cheese and some yogurt and a handful of pasta. All kept separate. She doesn't like it mixed together or with any dressing or anything.

I do feel for you. My 2 like ham or cheese basically. also Mini sausages and babybel so processed meat all the time. I've been playing around a little bit with the pasta or houmous/philly and veg to dip or even just wraps and managed to reduce ham to once or twice a week now. Have switched from frubes to Greek yoghurt which fills them up more and allowed me to reduce so of the not so great stuff.

Pasta salad
Cous cous
Chicken tikka and raita
Jerk chicken and mango salad
Wraps with hummus and grated carrot
Garli prawns and salad
