Giant blister on sole of foot

Walked home in heels from a Burns supper last night and now have a blister on the ball of my foot. Can't put it flat to the ground.

Very busy day tomorrow including meet up with very special friends. Any fast remedies?

hydrocolloid blister/burns plaster.
if you ask at the pharmacy counter they usually have larger sizes.

I had this the other week. It was about an inch and a half long on the pad of my foot!

I'd usually advocate leaving it alone, but as it's on a pressure point (which you'll be resting your whole body weight on) I'd say you need to drain it; you'll cause more damage by trying to walk with it unpopped. Use a sterilized needle (you can sterilize with a flame) and apply some antiseptic cream afterwards.

It will be very sore for a couple of days; I could barely walk for 24 hours afterwards despite using special plasters. I'd say plan for tomorrow to be more sedate than you were expecting... sorry!

Put a photo in Sporner corner.

You need to pop it. It’s not recommended but I always do mine as it’s less painful. Wipe foot with antiseptic, sterilise a needle in heatbtten antiseptic too. Gently push the needle into the blister. I promise it won’t hurt. Keep wiping as a lot of liquid will come out. Keep it clean and put a dressing on it.

Pop it, let it breathe overnight then plaster in the morning. Easy.

I would pop it with a sterilised needle when cover with the hydra-whatever dressings. They are fab.
