Payday date?

Just curious when do you get paid?
I currently have two jobs with different paydays, neither of which are today. My previous job wouldn't have fallen today either.
I currently get paid 28th and then the last working day.

Yet justeat have email today about payday treats. This isn't the first time I've had this from a range of companies.
One company I worked for used to even do discount staff offers on "payday weekend" yet didn't pay its own employees until the Monday Confused

Am I exception? Or am I missing something?

Was the last Wednesday before the last Thursday of the month (NHS) they then changed it to the 26th of the month. Got TUPEd to another organisation and get paid on the 18th (or the Fri before if it falls at a weekend/bank hol)

LBOCS2 · 25/01/2019 18:48

Second to last day of the month, or the working day before it if it falls on on a weekend.

This month it's the 30th.

BillyAndTheSillies · 25/01/2019 18:50

Get paid on the 27th of each month unless it's a weekend or bank holiday, then we'd get paid on the closest Friday before. Payday was today.

TokyoSushi · 25/01/2019 18:54

15th for me, last working day for DH, quite good as we usually don't go much longer than 2 weeks without somebody being paid.

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 25/01/2019 18:54

Mine has always been the last working day of the month. I think most companies work that way.

ohcarriemathison · 25/01/2019 18:57

Last Thursday of the month but December and January got paid a week early so got paid yesterday. Felt a long month.

Paddingtonthebear · 25/01/2019 18:58

6th

Glitteryfrog · 25/01/2019 18:59

@Grandadwasthatyou do your bills all come out on one day?

4yearsnosleep · 25/01/2019 19:02

I wish everywhere paid the same day. Much easier for direct debits etc. I get paid 28th, or the last working day before if it falls on a bh or weekend. OH is the last working day. This month sucks because I was paid on the 21st December 🤨

Grandadwasthatyou · 25/01/2019 19:04

No they are staggered throughout the month although I don't pay my mortgage by direct debit as it was proving too awkward with my pay date never being the same. I simply transfer the mortgage company the money on the day I get paid which means in effect they will get 13 payments a month.

HoraceCope · 25/01/2019 19:05

24th of the month

olivo · 25/01/2019 19:27

25th - today!

itssquidstella · 25/01/2019 21:28

On the 17th!

Schmoobarb · 26/01/2019 09:10

I got paid 4 weekly in a previous job and it was good but a pain with direct debits. I ended up having to get an overdraft facility on my account

ecuse · 26/01/2019 09:11

15th, or the Friday prior if that falls at the weekend.

Cookit · 26/01/2019 09:12

23rd or earlier if 23rd is a weekend.

VanillaSauce · 26/01/2019 09:34

25th or the weekday earlier if the 25th is a weekend.

Grandadwasthatyou · 27/01/2019 10:11

My maths and reasoning is useless. Can anyone take me up on my earlier question on how to work out when I'll have a month free of direct debits because I get paid every 4 weeks not every calendar month?

stayingatthebottomofeverest · 27/01/2019 10:13

I got paid on the 19th december before christmas but normally last working day ... it's been a loooooong six weeks Grin

MaltedMilk88 · 27/01/2019 10:17

I get paid last Friday of every month. DH is paid last working day of the month x

Youmadorwhat · 27/01/2019 10:18

Every second Thursday

DowntonCrabby · 27/01/2019 10:20

27th or the Friday before if the 27th falls at a weekend.
20th of December and 20th of January or the Friday before those if either falls at the weekend.

Aquathest · 27/01/2019 10:28

Last working day of each month for me. DH - the 10th of each month or closest working day to 10th (if it falls on a weekend).

Direct debits used to all come out on 1st working day of each month but we had to change and stagger the outgoings through to the middle of the month to account for the difference in our pay days.

adeo1929 · 27/01/2019 10:37

@grandadwasthatyou isn't it rather that in one month you will get paid twice, than have no bills? My partner is paid 4 weekly and last year he was paid twice in June and still paid in July. So effectively one of those payments he didn't need for bills, if that makes sense. We figure it out by adding payday to the calendar app and setting it to every 4 weeks

Grandadwasthatyou · 27/01/2019 10:49

@adeo1929 ... you are right. I do actually mean that at one point all the bills will have been paid and I should have an extra 4 weeks pay hanging around as everything is already paid for.
I just couldn't work out when that would be. Will the app you mentioned help me do that?
