My head is so much of a pickle atm. Buying this buying that's midwife appointment here whooping vaccination there lol and pregnant ha so tired and nausious and everything ha and it's my first so a teeny bit nervous somewhat. One question the first 6 weeks of maternity pay is 90% of my earnings of the last 8 weeks.. I have 2 jobs one 35 hours and one cleaning early morning (11 and half hours a week) does materny pay involve both or the highest?

I think it's only the highest but I'm not sure! I'm confused about maternity pay too and I only have 1 job

I'm sure if you meet the requirements for mat pay for both then you would get it from both employers

No you won’t get it from both employers, the government pays it and only one company can claim for you. It’s probably only the higher paying one that can claim, but you might instead be eligible for Maternity Allowance depending on how things are set up. I’d call the DWP and ask them.

Ah my mistake, you can claim from both but it’s more complicated. Definitely call DWP.

You do a separate claim from each employer and can start maternity leave at different times too. Will you meet the earnings requirement for the cleaning job?

It’s also not your earnings of the last eight weeks but how much you earn between the Sunday of the week you turn 17 weeks and the Saturday of the week you turned 25 weeks (or the two months those qualifying weeks predominantly fall in if you are paid monthly).
