Flight to Mauritius - direct or via Dubai?

Hello all - am about to book flights for a family wedding in Mauritius and need to decide whether to fly direct with BA or via Dubai with Emirates.

The Emirates flights would have a 2-3hr stopover. I think it would be good to stretch legs, have a proper meal, and Emirates in-flight service supposed to be much better than BA.

DH thinks a stopover is crazy and we should go direct.

DCs are 10 and 7.

Any thoughts? Thanks

We did a 2 hour stop in Dubai. Nightmare going out... we had one foot on our plane disembarking when it announced our next flight. Cure legging it across the airport through security etc. Fortinately both planes were to/going from the same terminal.

Going back we flew into terminal A and out of terminal C. Had to get the underground. No way would we have made it on our inbound flight. The 2 hours stop we had on the way back felt like the LONGEST 2 hours in the world. No seats at all to sit in. People sleeping on the floor. Just full of numerous shops we didnt want to buy anything from.

So IMO, direct.
