Which is my left and which is my right re contact lenses?

I’ve been wearing contact lenses for 5 years and it’s just occurred to me that I might be getting it wrong I am very stupid
So is the left contact lens supposed to go in the left as I see it or the left as someone sees it looking at me?

Or are these the same thing and I just can’t visualise it?!

Mine have the same strengths so haven’t needed to think about it properly but I would assume your left and right

The left/right instruction is to help you put them in - no one else knows or cares you are wearing lenses. Why would the instruction be from anyone else’s point of view?

Your prescriptions must be very similar in each eye if you think you've been doing it for 5 years without noticing, though. I wouldn't have made it out the front door with mine in the wrong eyes!

My prescriptions are quite different!

If your eyes are feeling wonky you might have inadvertently put them in the wrong way round or you might need to get your prescription reviewed.
