Does anyone put on foundation daily?

I feel a bit of a diva doing this but feel it makes all the difference. Just foundation and eyeliner seems to make me go from average/icky to like really really made up nicely.

Does anyone else wear foundation daily?

I've seen a lot of women wear mascara daily which I definitely don't do (mainly the hassle of taking it all off the lashes daily)

Yes, everyday. Foundation, concealer, mascara, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, blusher, lipliner, lipstick.
Only takes about 10 minutes to do.

kaytee87 · 25/01/2019 11:14

I wear it about 5 days out of 7 I'd say.

My normal make up would be; foundation, bronzer/blusher, brows and mascara - takes 5 minutes

If I'm making an effort then; primer, concealer, foundation, bronzer/blusher, highlighter, brows, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipliner and lipstick and mascara - takes 15 minutes

I wear foundation, plus minimal makeup (Bronzer, neutral coloured eye shadow, mascara kohl eyeliner and neutral brown/pink lipstick) for work as I deal with the public.

The foundation is matched to my skin tone, so it looks natural.

At home, I wear nothing (makeup wise, that is 😄), but I use a hot towel cleanser which makes my unmade up face look fresh and clean.

If you use a good foundation and matte if you're oily, dewy if you're dry (eg not a knock off), clean any brushes/sponges regularly and remove make up properly before bed then there's no reason that wearing make up should make your skin bad.

TadaTralala · 25/01/2019 11:16

weekdays at work: yes. Weekends: no, bare faced

formerbabe · 25/01/2019 11:20

Yes foundation every day. I can't wear foundation without mascara...it looks like a weird mask on me.

haverhill · 25/01/2019 11:22

Yes, most days. It makes a world of difference to my pale-yet-blotchy face, and helps with under eye circles. I must disagree that it's ageing, unless the wrong type or poorly applied.

pilates · 25/01/2019 11:43

If it looks ageing you haven’t got the right shade for your skin tone.

Gave up putting make-up on several years ago. Oddly the older I get, the less I have worn. I love that I don't have to do anything in the morning other than wash Grin. It was my DM who actually put me off, she has worn full thick dark brown slap all her life, and now in to her 90's, it gets on her clothes, on her furniture, it is just yuk, I hated it when I was a girl, and even more so now, it is her mask. Think I am a bit traumatised by it actually Grin.

I do everyday unless I know I won't be leaving the house. I don't do the whole Insta-ready painting session though, just moisturiser, foundation, mascara, eyebrows (not slugs). It only takes me 15 mins to do it.

VanillaSauce · 25/01/2019 12:35

No, not cream foundation it makes me look flat.

Little bit of mineral powder on a occasion only.

waterlego · 25/01/2019 12:51

I don’t use foundation because it ages me and I don’t like the matte finish it gives me (yes, I probably do apply it incorrectly; not got the patience to learn).

On the occasions I wear make up (which is sometimes for work and always for going out), I wear concealer, bronzer, eyebrow make up and mascara.

waterlego · 25/01/2019 12:53

Vanilla, fla is the word I was looking for! Sort of 2 dimensional. I like the natural colour in my cheeks and foundation covers that.

waterlego · 25/01/2019 12:54

*flat 🙄

BrieAndOatcakes · 25/01/2019 12:55

If I'm leaving the house (except for a quick dog walk or something!) I wear foundation, eyeliner and mascara. Takes less than 5 minutes but makes me feel SO much better about myself.

stopgap · 25/01/2019 12:57

No. I am lucky to have fantastic skin at 41, and am also olive-skinned so don’t need it for brightening.

I do wear under eye concealer sometimes, and never leave the house without mascara.

SuperMam123 · 25/01/2019 13:00

I don't but only because I'm too lazy lol. I'd rather have the extra 30 minutes in bed that it takes me to cover up the acne!

planespotting · 25/01/2019 13:04

Yes. A light coverage one

TheGoddessFrigg · 25/01/2019 13:06

Oh yes. My natural skin tone is Skimmed Milk with a hint of blue. And I now have very bad red marks - telangiastica- and cant be arsed with all the 'helpful comments' about 'Do I know I have marks on my face?'.

christmaschristmaschristmas · 25/01/2019 13:27

Yes. Should be no problem for skin so long as you remove it properly!

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 25/01/2019 13:33

Yes I do. I wear a full layer of make-up that takes me 10 minutes to apply, but it's just light coverage.

Littleraindrop15 · 25/01/2019 13:45

I did a make up detox past year and a half.. Went from daily to special occasions so roughly wore make up in 2018 about 6 or 7 times.

What I've learnt

My skin has become amazing!!
I don't get acne anymore I used to have a forhead where you could play connect the dots.
Still have dark circles and blackheads but blackheads are less than before. So that sucks
My skin tone has normalised somehow as before I used to have two foundations to even out the different patches.
My skin isn't flakey anymore
My coat is not covered in foundation
I get super excited now when I do put make up on.
Saved a fortune as I always use expensive brands

Oh and the hemp hand cream once a week at night makes me a glowworm.

I couldn't leave the house with out make up and I just pushed myself to not do it as I used to be very paranoid at first it was really hard as I used to look in the mirror and think how ugly my skin and face was. I honestly don't regret cutting down on make up as it made me more and more dependent when half of my skin issues where due to make up in the first place.

explodingkitten · 25/01/2019 13:49

Who (who wears make up) isn’t putting foundation on every day?

Me! No matter which brand I use or BB cream or whatever (even the really expensive stuff) it makes my skin spotty (as in unevenly coloured, not pimply). Would like to wear BB cream daily though, now I can only do it for special occasions. I do have reasonable skin without it thankfully.

kaytee87 · 25/01/2019 13:54

@explodingkitten have you tried using a primer first?

Cocobana · 25/01/2019 13:56

Yes I can’t leave house without makeup! If I’m in the house all day and nobody is seeing me I don’t wear it though.
