Today I’ve finally faced up to my mistakes

Name changed for this as I don’t want it linked to my normal user name as I am utterly ashamed of myself.

I have had a gambling problem for years but I’ve managed to hide it very well - borrowing money via loans credit cards etc.

Today I’ve finally made a stand. I’ve self exclauded via gam stop so there’s no way to get around it.

Next step is tackling the debts - I can’t tell anyone in real life.

So this thread is for anyone else who has this horrible dirty secret. Letting you know there is a way out of it and you will never win the money back so cut your losses and make a fresh start like I am having to do !

I don't have the same problem exactly but have my own issues, and the counsellor I've been seeing has been very clear that in contrast to what is often said (and I see this a lot on MN) that people can change, there's no time limit on that, if they really want to. So that is my challenge too. Good luck.
