Interested to know how different primary schools approach the commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day. Is it a day that your school commemorates?

Not sure about the infants department, but our junior school did an assembly about Anne Frank 's diary last year, and it was very moving.

Why would you like to know? Are you a journalist?

My children have all had something presented in assembly over the years, including candles, prayers, etc. It's hard to convey the horror for primary school age though. It has more meaning at senior school level I think.

I watched the Newsround Special with my class. It's a Holocaust survivor taking his granddaughter on his family journey. Stunning stuff... they've done an Anne Frank film too which we are going to watch tomorrow.

Not a journo! DS's school are commemorating it - but not providing much detail in case of 'causing upset.' Given its a very sensitive subject I was just wondering how other schools handled it?
