Can anyone else not eat heavy evening meals?

It's such a pain but I really struggle to eat any heavy evening meals. I'm not sure if heavy is the right word but here's an example of some of the meals I'm referring to; sausage casserole, beef stew, coq au vin.

I can eat things like, a cheeseburger with a side of veg, any pasta type meal, pizza, toasted sandwiches etc.

It's so annoying. I actually like the taste of the 3 meals I listed above but about 3/4 mouthfuls in, I just can't stomach anymore!

Is it just me or is anyone else like this?

🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ Sounds a lot like me!

I don’t eat meat, due to the fact I can’t stomach it. Thick veg soups I can’t have too much of. My evening meal last nights qty to the evening before was very vast. Due to how much I could eat of it.

When I did eat meat I always found stews to sink like the titanic and then I wouldn’t be able to move, but yet pasta I can eat by the truck load.

I struggle if I eat a big meal late in the evening. Although I’m fine with a Chinese takeaway!

I also can’t eat any dairy in the evening without getting terrible stomach ache and the feeling that it has set like concrete in my gut. Yet I have no problem with dairy in the daytime.

Over the last few months I've started to notice that meals I previously loved, when eaten in the evening, cause stomach pain and require an immediate trip to the bathroom. At first it was just overly processed or higher fat meals but lately it's been anything. I made chicken casserole the other night, same problem. Beef stew, lasagne, a hot dog I had, curry.. the list goes on. Going to try an elimination diet, vegetarian, little cheese (already don't drink milk), low fat, haven't yet fully decided what I'll cut out. And then slow reintroduction to try and identify the culprits. Otherwise another GP trip I guess.

It's so strange since I love the smell/taste. It just feels like I'm full about a minute into eating it. I normally have a huge appetite but just can't seem to eat a reasonable portion of these sorts of meals.

I don't get stomach pain or anything like that. And come to think of it, I don't think I could stomach eating them at any time of day. It's just annoying if I'm visiting someone and they serve up a meal like that because I really just can't eat it.

I used to get this alot but now it less than often. Ive cut down on my lunch and cut back on the afternoon snack. This has helped me to be able to eat again in the evenings.

I don't eat much in the evening because I eat in the daytime, when I'm hungry. The concept of eating hardly anything all day in anticipation of a big evening meal is alien to me. I would faint from hunger.

I do eat normal evening meals, just small portions. I then eat the rest as leftovers for lunch the next day.
