At what point should I go to see GP?

Been coughing for nearly two weeks now. It's sort of chesty but I feel it's sitting quite high up iyswim. Everytime I eat, drink, speak, I cough. I'm coping with life and don't feel THAT ill, but I'm absolutely knackered. Also keep getting dizzy spells/ever so slightly blurred vision after coughing (presume either low bp or lack of oxygen). Have been sick twice due to coughing. Am also asthmatic. Don't want to waste mine or Drs time if the answer is just 'ride it out' Confused

Hi,

I think GP would be appropriate giving it's been two weeks and you're asthmatic .

Hope you feel better soon x

I had similar and it was pluresy, or something similar. An infection. Needed steroids and allsorts. I didn't actually feel that bad but looking back I was at the point of exhaustion from just being ill so long. So, not intending to to worry you but better safe than sorry especially if you have asthma which I don't.

Hmm, not at all the answers I was expecting on MN to be honest. Maybe I should make an appointment. Thanks.

My DH had pleurisy and ended up in A&E. We thought it was a chest infection but the coughing got worse and he had sudden pain in his shoulder. Every time he gets a cold / cough from DS i worry myself to bits. Hope you get better.

Mmmm. I had a cough like that once when I was about 30 and it turned out to be whooping cough.
