Where has the thread gone re boss and baby.

I'm sure I read a thread about a boss bringing into work a new born baby. His wife had died last year. Some people knew his circumstances but the op didn't and was going to ask him where the baby had come from. Or was this a troll post.

OP posts:

OP was fairly open about it being fictional by the end. People got quite cross.

jessstan2 · 23/01/2019 19:17

Oh blast, I'm disappointed! I was intrigued. It wasn't boss though, was it, it was a colleague.

Never mind, we'll get over it.

AutumnCrow · 23/01/2019 19:18

MNHQ took it down to have a look-see. I think the banhammer fell.

blacktree · 23/01/2019 19:20

I could tell from the start that was total bollocks

GlasgowWorrier · 23/01/2019 19:20

A newborn baby and two conveniently and unspecifically 'dead' women was a bit Victorian Gothic.

Nicknacky · 23/01/2019 19:23

What did she say about it being fictional?

TaintforTheLikesOfWe · 23/01/2019 19:25

It was not a genuine thread.

Prinstress · 23/01/2019 19:27

I know we're all pissing about on Mumsnet, but do people really have nothing more interesting to do with their time than make shit like that up?

KittensAndCake · 23/01/2019 19:29

Can I just add before this one is deleted too that whoever posted the picture of the woollen baby, it made me howl 😂🤣

tryinganewname · 23/01/2019 20:03

Oh! That was the most frustrating thread ever.. I invested a good 10 minutes reading it Angry

Fiddie · 23/01/2019 20:04

Did she actually say she was trolling?

Waytooearly · 23/01/2019 20:12

Yeah she did.

I mean in the very first line she called it 'poseable'. Was that not a giveaway?

I was crying with laughter.

But I can see why they removed it. The site would just descend into buffoonery if people did that all the time.

But man I haven't laughed like that in ages.

TinselAndKnickers · 23/01/2019 20:13

What was her "grand reveal" that she was trolling? I missed it Blush

Fiddie · 23/01/2019 20:17

It was obviously fake but I thought it was lame, didn't find it funny at all.

I prefer a more subtle troll

Parthenope · 23/01/2019 20:20

It was fairly low-grade, z-list trolling, in all fairness.

OhDearHowSadNeverMind · 23/01/2019 20:35

I can't believe that some people were falling over laughing at that! How? Why? What was funny about it? It was awful and the OP wasn't even amusing!

KatherinaMinola · 23/01/2019 20:39

Yes, "poseable" did strike me as odd. What an odd thing to make up though.

Costacoffeeplease · 23/01/2019 20:45

Yes two dead women and a newborn being cared for by an apparently inept and inexperienced non relative - hilarious Hmm

Waytooearly · 23/01/2019 20:48

When it's blatantly fake? Yeah I think it's funny. The responses were funnier. But maybe you have to have a dark sense of humour.

welcometonarnia · 23/01/2019 20:56

I agree, Way.

AutumnCrow · 23/01/2019 21:01

It was ludicrous in and of itself, but posters also pointed out other posts of the OP's on other threads which from memory would make her an active social worker in her 70s and mother of 13 teenagers including two sets of twins.

Hence not just the deletion but, I believe, the mighty banhammer.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 23/01/2019 21:03

Even my trolldar detected that one. And it's pretty shit Grin
