Does anyone know what a vvv is?

DD2 is having a few friends over for her birthday at the weekend and left me a list of some things she wanted me to buy. The list said:

Starburst
Sour sweets
Party vvv things
Icing sugar

It took me ages to work out what the vvv things were but I did in the end, does anyone else know what she meant?

Bunting?

Thisisthelaststraw · 23/01/2019 17:00

Ooh, I love guessing games 😊

Hope those who know let it go for a while.

I’m thinking...

FiggyFudgePot · 23/01/2019 17:01

Bunting decoration?

Thisisthelaststraw · 23/01/2019 17:01

Is vvv a brand?

TooOldForThisNow · 23/01/2019 17:02

Party blowers?

Racecardriver · 23/01/2019 17:02

Must be bunting

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 23/01/2019 17:02

Bunting for sure, i don't think vvv stands for anything. So yeah, my money is on bunting.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 23/01/2019 17:02

I think bunting too.

Thisisthelaststraw · 23/01/2019 17:02

Yeah bunting has to be

AFingerofFudge · 23/01/2019 17:03

Is it party rings? And the rings is written weirdly to look like vvvv (I know, it's not obvious Confused)

ShowOfHands · 23/01/2019 17:06

It's Tim Berners-Lee's early, failed project.

party poppers as the emoji looks a bit v like

Thisisthelaststraw · 23/01/2019 17:15

Was it a squiggly line and not vvv?

Snake-like jellies or something?

Yousignup · 23/01/2019 17:17

OP, if this turns out to be another Boswell, I shall be vvvv annoyed.Smile

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 23/01/2019 17:18

Ooh placemarking!

@Yousignup I think of Boswell every bloody day! Drives me nuts!!!

Thisisthelaststraw · 23/01/2019 17:24

I have no idea what Boswell is.

The other items are all food so I’m not sold on bunting just yet.

Yousignup · 23/01/2019 17:28

Do NOT google Mumsnet and Google. You will lose days and feel extremely unsatisfied.

luckiestgirl · 23/01/2019 17:34

My guess is party blowers- the ones you blow and they make the bvvv sound.

NigelsBird · 23/01/2019 17:45

It would help a bit if we knew how old DD2 is!
My guesss is party ring biscuits (which have zig-zag lines in the icing).

Hanab · 23/01/2019 17:51

Decorations?

Babdoc · 23/01/2019 17:54

Well, in the Netherlands the VVV used to be the local tourist information offices. But I doubt your DD wants one of those for her birthday...!

Noopey · 23/01/2019 17:59

My guess would be party poppers.

FurryDogMother · 23/01/2019 18:00

Bunting.

AugustRose · 23/01/2019 18:01

She will be 12 so I don't know why she didn't just write down what they are called, or indeed why she wants them at all.

It was party blowers as a couple of people said, because that is the noise they make when you blow them [hmmm]. They don't appear to be too popular these days because it took me 4 shops to find some.

I stopped reading that Boswell thread after 1 page, did it go on for long then?
