Wrong CV attached to job application

Ive just applied for a job and realised i attached my older CV! I had my new one saved in a different folder. The recruitment agency has called and left a voicemail. When i call back should I confess?

What's the difference between old and new?

Might it hinder your chances?

Its missing out the job im currently doing. The previous role i was in was a secondment so it looks like im still seconded, 2 years later. I dont think it would hinder it. But the job needs attention to detail and sending the wrong CV isnt great attention to detail!

If it's an agency I'd call them and send the correct one over. They want to place you in a role so it's in their best interest to have the right info.

Send your new one across and just say you attached the wrong version. I wouldn't mark that down as lack of attention to detail if you were sending that to me.

I'm in recruitment and this happens all the time.

Give them a call, explain simply, send updated CV. No big deal.
