What little quirks does your house/ appliances have that's make you smile?

Our freezer makes a noise like it's blowing you a kiss when you close it. It actually came in useful once too when it didn't blow me a kiss I realised it had accidentally been turned off by the plumber who had been fixing our tap.

My bedroom is directly above the gas boiler so when the heating timer kicks in at 6am I wake up every morning before the alarm.
On the occasions it hasn't kicked in I've still woken up,gone down to check and it's broken down or the pilot lights out

My letterbox is vicious and snaps shut hard on unsuspecting fingers which aren’t familiar with it - like those delivering junk mail whilst ignoring the “no junk mail” sign.

My washing machine sings me the song of its people when it's finished a load.
My dishwasher has a light on the floor to show it's on - which is brilliant because the last one had a dodgy catch and you had to shut the door in a certain way and stand with your ear against it for 30s to check you'd shut it properly and it was actually on.
