How to accept how I speak?

I have quite a posh accent due to my family and due to education. It’s so different from the rest of the population who are local.

I work in a public facing role and would always get comments of “where are you from” “is your family local”. I had this as a chils too. So I’ve been dumbing it down and sounding more “local”, even though my family have lived here for 500+ years!

How can I just “own” it per se.
