...what would have been a lovely gift to receive the month beforehand for your birthday?

Hmmmm is this a trick question and you have received a crap present😂?

Physio sessions. Before and after. Gift voucher for a hard-core sports massage for the day after when the pain really kicks in or before to iron out any niggles.

None conducting headphones. You can’t usually wear earbuds in a running event, but bone conducting headphones are OK.

Not all events allow bone conducting headphones- I’ve been in a few that say you’d be disqualified for wearing them.

A pair of my favourite running socks. New Trainers (time to break them in!). A sports massage. Cake.

Voucher for a sports massage a few days prior (helps if you know exactly when is the sweet spot for you - definitely not too close to the event if you don't normally have them!).

Foot spa for all the blisters.

Thanks guys. No nickynack ha ha it's for my lovely friend who is running the London marathon for the first time....she's the sort of person who has everything she need a or wants so is tricky to buy for!
