Family member passed away and before they passed told my mum that she was going to give half her money to me and my brother. She passed away around Christmas. We’ve heard nothing at all about any inheritance not that I want to sound grabby I just don’t get on with some other family members and wondering if there with helding it or something.

Depends on whether she put this in a legal will that has been found and is being executed by an honest person.
Even the most straightforward will will take several months to sort out, get private, pay and debts/funeral costs/disbursements etc.
Do you know who the Executor/s are? Any legetees should be informed of the bequest by the Executor and have a right to see the will, but it’s early days.
Can you ask the Executor?

Do you get on with your aunt or your father?
Can you just bring the subject up in a normal conversation? Just in general terms, for example, “still feeling sad about XXXX, hope you are not having too much work getting things/ her will and stuff sorted? Can I be of any help?” and see what type of response you get.
