How often is acceptable for your water to go off?

Apologies for the boring thread but just want to gauge opinions on this, our water is currently off for at least the seventh time in the last twelve months. Burst pipes seem to be the cause mostly and the water goes back on eventually but it’s starting to become more frequent, the last time was Boxing Day. It normally takes at least 6 hours for it to return minimum. The school has had to close twice because of it, the other times have been evenings and weekends.

So what I’m asking is do you think this is excessive and what should we do? We’ve emailed the water company and got a generic apology but I’m thinking this isn’t acceptable anymore and they need to look at replacing pipes that are clearly old and failing!

Don’t think our water has ever been off, once the pipes were frozen, but it was exceptionally cold, and that’s not the water company’s fault.
Sounds shocking, name and shame.

I’m not on Twitter otherwise I’d be giving them hell, there’s uproar on our village Facebook page though apparently!Grin
