I had such a bad day I told DH I'm working late. I'm actually in McDonalds

He might have wanted to join you! Assuming he is not the cause of the bad day Grin

2dogsandPG · 22/01/2019 17:02

This made me smile Smile I hope fries are making you feel better Thanks

LEMtheoriginal · 22/01/2019 17:02

If ive had a bad day the last place i want to be is macdonalds. Its hardly a haven of peace and tranquillity. The pies are lish though. Get thee to the pub woman WineGinWineGin

I'm going to bring him a big Mac and eat his fries

It was either that or a bottle of wine Grin

I have to say, it's a very pleasant experience. It's warm and very clean and hardly busy at all. One very quiet family and a teenage date.

I've paid ££££ for meals I've enjoyed less.

Wine over McDonald's surely?! Although I'd love some fries now I've read this. Still...Wine.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 22/01/2019 17:06

I'd have dragged DH to the pub

EduCated · 22/01/2019 17:06

I love the cosines of a spur of the moment McDonalds.

Greyhound22 · 22/01/2019 17:07

I don't blame you.

Enjoy the fries 🍟

My DH would be so happy with the Big Mac he wouldn't remember where I had said I was 😂

Sadly I have to drive and I'd not be able to stop at one, I'm in that bad a mood.

DH is having quality time with his children- win-win.

When I was single and living at home I had a truly awful day and after my 2h public transport commute from teacher training placement I found I’d forgotten my key and no one was home. Went directly to Macdonald’s and ordered all my favourites and sat browsing rubbish on my phone. it was bliss!

Teacherlikemisstrunchball · 22/01/2019 17:15

We have a McDonald’s on the way home from school. I regularly stop there and just get nuggets and eat them in the car Grin I am also partial to a McDonald’s breakfast 😋

SagelyNodding · 22/01/2019 17:21

I wish I had done that! I often have a sneaky 15 minutes relaxing in my car (on phone) when I get home from work before facing the evening madness Blush

halfwitpicker · 22/01/2019 17:26

That's actually a good idea.

BookWitch · 22/01/2019 17:27

I am a supply teacher. Once when I was on the way to a school, they called to cancel.
DH was "working from home" and would have irritated me all day, so I went to Waterstones for a book browse and a nice coffee. I went home after lunch and said they only wanted me for the morning.
I only have a small amount of guilt.

MissMacaron · 22/01/2019 17:27

Have an Apple pie while you’re there I would.

Reccy2018 · 22/01/2019 17:29

Also great for people watching😁 enjoy it, you deserve it

HazelBite · 22/01/2019 17:30

I would finish it off with a McFlurry, eaten slowly!

QuilliamCakespeare · 22/01/2019 17:31

You're my hero, OP. Great idea. I sometimes grab five minutes upstairs to fold washing read Mumsnet in bed but this involves fries. Bravo!

I want fries now.

greyspottedgoose · 22/01/2019 18:26

Why don't McDonald's deliver? I'd pay anything right now for a large Big Mac meal & curry dip 😍

BiteyShark · 22/01/2019 18:29

I have sometimes drove through the drive through after work and eaten a portion of fries in their car park after a hard day. Also forgetting to mention this when I got home Grin

ICouldBeSomebodyYouKnow · 22/01/2019 18:34

Good on you!

I once spent the afternoon in Debenhams cafe playing a silly game on my phone, until the battery ran out! I'd left DH at home with the DCs. It was bliss.

Why don't McDonald's deliver?
I know someone who has ordered in from them, maybe using Uber or Deliveroo??

TheFutureMrsB · 22/01/2019 18:40

After a crappy night shift I find myself heading to McDonald's for a breakfast Blush
