So who has got the lurgy then??

I am on end of day 6 and starting to feel a wee bit better. Have not felt like a zombie today for the first time.

DS has no cough or sinus problem but looks ghastly with awful stomach cramps. Anyone else got this variety? (Not sure why but everything goes to ds's stomach . . .)

Sending sympathy to any fellow sufferers.

Just recovered! Horrid! Luckily no tummy problems. Hope your little boy and you feel better soon Flowers

LurkyMcLurky · 22/01/2019 17:03

Yep, me. Day 3 and I feel like a wrung out dishrag. Earache, sore throat, shivers and a nose like a dripping tap. I look terrible so DH told me this morning and to top it all, AF has arrived with a vengeance. Took today off work and promised I'd be in tomorrow, but if I'm still feeling like poo I'm going to have another PJ day. Haven't felt this shit for years.

AntsDeck · 22/01/2019 18:15

Me day 2 and feel awful.
Everything hurts, arms, legs, back and throats and my nose either won't work or won't stop. Chest feels like a small hippo is sat on it.
And I have 'the cough'

Sending well wishes to fellow lurgyers

My poor 6 year old has this. Hes had a temp of 39-40 for 3 days now. Snotty, achy, chesty, wobbly legs, ulcers all over his mouth. poor kipper is struggling. Just waiting for the rest of us to catch it 😵

BernardoTeashop · 22/01/2019 18:32

Day 10 here 🙈

BadHairDyeDay · 22/01/2019 18:40

I'm on day 6. Beginning to turn a corner. Had aching joints, pins sticking into my skin all over, burning eyes, zero energy, aching chest, bad cough & no appetite. Flu jab for me next year for sure 🤒

CurbsideProphet · 22/01/2019 18:47

It's a middle ear infection for me. Awful pain and headache, plus nausea from the vertigo and feeling shattered. Work aren't overly sympathetic, but I can't drive and I feel absolutely rubbish.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 22/01/2019 18:49

Yep, day 6 since I started a cough, progressed to hacking cough, temperature, D&V and general exhaustion. Absolutely hideous and missed yet more work.

Twickerhun · 22/01/2019 19:21

Day two and both baby and toddler have it. I feel like it’s been a month already.

LikeACowsOpinion · 22/01/2019 19:48

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news;
I had this for 6 weeks.
I'm still only just coming out the other side, with hot and cold sweats, snotty nose and an irritating cough.

Solidarity to you all suffering at the beginning. Buy stocks in a cold and flu remedy/decongestant/cough medicine of your choice and buckle down.

It sucks Brew Thanks

StandardPoodle · 22/01/2019 20:56

I started with 3 days of a sore throat, then 2 days of nose like a tap and constant sneezing, followed by 2 days of in and out of bed/unable to eat before I started to recover. About back to normal now.
That was with the flu jab!

Notverygrownup · 23/01/2019 12:14

Huge sympathy for you all - specially Likeacow

Waves a tissue in solidarity with y'all,

Day 5, but it's my second time through - I was off the first week of the year too :( Suuuuuuuuucks. GWS everyone!

FaithInfinity · 23/01/2019 14:01

DD started at the weekend - nausea, stomach cramp, vomiting, spiking temps, lethargic. Back to school today but still not 100%.
I started feeling rough Monday, sore throat, cough. I’m asthmatic so the cough has become a problem. I’m under a duvet on the sofa trying to decide if I CBA to shower today. Looks unlikely!

Notverygrownup · 23/01/2019 14:58

How old is dd, Faith? Her symptoms were the same as my dss, but I am struggling to get him to move off the settee, never mind consider school. He has avoided the cough too, so I was hoping that he might shake it off a bit more quickly than me . . .

Day 12 here. Second day of antibiotics and I'm currently lying on my bed as I feel so sick trying to get dressed. Haven't been off work this long maybe ever.

Soflakey · 23/01/2019 15:03

Day 13 I think it is here. Started with a burning sore throat then a chesty cough, followed by a streaming nose and now we’re back to relentless coughing. I had a day off sick last week and have come home early today. I’m exhausted.

christmaschristmaschristmas · 23/01/2019 15:12

Day 1 for me - hope I am recovered quicker than some of you!

FaithInfinity · 23/01/2019 15:26

DD is 5. She’s made it through a day at school but I think I’ll keep her off her dance lessons tonight.

I’m so chesty (rattling cough) and bringing up phlegm I think I’ll be off to the GP tomorrow.
