Success making friends online?

Has anyone had any success making friends online? I've just joined Bumble and Vina but nothing ever comes of it, we start chatting and then it just ends. Any other good apps to try?

I have quite a few online friends but I've mostly met them via gaming. I use hello talk which is a language exchange app as I'm learning a language at the moment and I've got a few friends that I now talk to off the app via that.

I have never made friends online from a website that is aimed at making friends. Online friends have always come from interacting on mutual interest websites and the friendships have grown over time.

Iv tried a few including mush. Like you op chat for a bit then nothing comes of it. It's disappointing but oh well
