What charity

I've wanted to start a charity for some time and I will likely do it in the future but it seems a lot of work and red tape right now as I am starting up a second business as my first one has been a success.

To start helping right now I wanted to donate money earned from my second business to help a charity.

Of course there are so many charities that support worthy causes but topics particularly close to my heart are

Helping children living in poverty
Helping women and children who have suffered Domestic abuse
Children's hospice

The thing is, I don't know where to start

If you were to do this, which charity would you choose/recommend... I'm happy to consider other topics and what would be a sensible percentage to donate to charity out of my business income? Are there any official channels I would need to look at to ensure this is all above board?

I was just talking to my mum about this. I would open a respite centre for kids with additional needs and their siblings so that their parents can get a really good break. However that would take millions so on the smaller scale I would donate to my dds special school, there is a charity for the school which raises money for a two week summer scheme for the kids, as a lot of kids with additional needs find the summer break really disruptive and upsetting the summer scheme is invaluable. Maybe there is something similar near you?

I'm no help, any money we give to charity goes to animal charities sorry

@timetoriseandshine aw yeah I do love animals so much... theyre so helpless! It's really hard to decide.
