Radio breakfast show?

As in who do you listen to on the radio between 7am-9am?

I tried to like Zoe Ball, I really did. I realised this morning on the way to work that I was in a bad mood made worse by the inanity, horrible music choices and Zoe's odd in-takes of breath (honestly, once you notice it you can never unnotice it)

Any recommendations for a good morning radio show I can tune into?

In the car in the morning I flick between 6 music and Gold. Very little talking or adverts on Gold and they play some old classics every now and then

Greg James on R1...shame he can't do the afternoon too..can't fucking stand Nick Grimshaw's voice or face...he's a cock!!!

I thought I couldn't dislike anyone more than Chris Ego Evans in the morning, but Zoe Ball has been unbearable this week. She is hopeless at interviewing (90% is her prattling on about nothing) and the breathy twee fawning is too much. The travel person sounds like an over-excited 5th former on work experience.

Zoe was gushing about how wonderful it was to see someone's face again (Jodie someone) this morning and I was rolling my eyes at the fakery of it all never mind the inanity of someone saying this on a radio show and I realised I couldn't bear it a second longer. I have now switched to Radio 4.

I gave ZB a try, I really did. But I couldn't get on with her style. So I switched chris Evans back on this morning on Virgin. Same show as R2, they've even brought their old jingles. No ads and they're even going to do a Sunday morning one. Switched back to Ken from 10am but that's a dilemma now as he starts at 9.30 and chris finishes 10!

Simon Mayo is going to front a new entertainment type morning show on a new classical channel. Looks good.

I’m way outside the age demographic, but I like the tunes, I hates ads and by the sounds of it the alternatives are not good!
And Greg is good.

Used to love XFM before Chris Moyles as they had decent music and the Manchester travel.. sadly I've gravitated to BBC Manchester. At least Chelsea (the breakfast host) is younger than me and the News reader lives in my village. I was gutted when I heard about Dianne Oxberry

Greg James on r1, I start at 7.10, the yesterday quiz is a great start to my day.. I love how the show continues a story from the next day.. then just before I get to work.. it's the 'keeping in touch with the latest things'.. the nonsense and easy of the show sets me up for the next day.
Yes I am way to old for the show.. but I despise zoe

I can’t be doing with Zoe. All that randomly shouting one word in a sentence. I would listen at breakfast if it was Sara Cox.

I like Dave Berry on Absolute, but the adverts and awful music put me off.

I will be searching for Chris Evans now his show has started.

I'm homeless at the moment, after 20+ years of 5Live breakfast I bailed out a few months ago over the particularly jnept handling of a sensitive topic, I can't take any more of Nicky Campbell. I can't bear Chris Evans, don't think I'd like Zoe Ball, R4 is a bit heavy going and I don't have DAB in the car. I've settled on Heart in the car at the moment but it really is dullsville, inoffensive but more or less just background music. Might have to try R1 by the sound of it.

Radio x for me... makes me laugh a lot

I miss Pete and Geoff on Virgin / Absolute.

Now mainly listen to Vanessa Feltz on Radio London. She can be a little overexcitable but she’s entertaining and at least there’s no tedious adverts.

I like Zoe, I liked her Saturday show too.

Truth be told I would prefer Chris Evans but don't know how to get Virgin on my car radio.

I listen to the local BBC radio station. No ads and excellent travel and weather.

Mind you, I catch the early morning show, not the main breakfast one, and I think my guy plays more music than the breakfast man.

I left Radio 1 when Moyles did.

I can’t stand her either and I noticed the weird breath thing a couple of years again OP and my brain is really switched on to it now
She just isn’t funny and it puts me on edge.
And yes the gorgeous girl thing is so patronising it’s awful.

I’ve swopped to 5Live which isn’t too bad at all but I miss the music

Another 6 Music listener here. I listen from 6:30 to 8:30, getting used to Lauren Laverne. Her music can be a little esoteric for first thing in the morning but I prefer her chat to Shaun Keaveney’s. I am enjoying the extra half hour of Chris Hawkins too.

6 music! I’m loving the new Lauren Laverne show at 0730 - so much more upbeat and fresh compared to dreary Shaun Keaveny

Radio 4 then radio 1 from 7am when the dc's are up.
Although Greg James seems to be less funny in the mornings than he was on the teatime show too many annoying callers too.

How is SW still in the radio? Why did he even get in in the first place?

Yes, 6 music for me too. I switched over a few years back after I realised Chris Evans made me stabby. I'm getting used to Lauren Laverne, but I miss Sean.
