No, but DD went to school with someone who is now a very famous boyband member.

pinkcardi · 21/01/2019 20:33

Yes, a recognisable tv celeb's DC

purpleboy · 21/01/2019 20:34

We have prem footballers kids

MorningsEleven · 21/01/2019 20:45

Yes. Famous parents and famous kids. They're very down to earth and really nice. One of the famous parents asked me where I'd bought an item of clothing because she loved it. I think she just wanted a normal conversation like the other school run people and I'm friends with a member of her family so we run in the same crowd. I get the impression that being a celeb can be a bit lonely and that you have to steer a course between the sycophants and the people who hate you because of your success.

maddiemookins16mum · 21/01/2019 21:03

Someone will be along shortly to say their DC is in the same class as George.

CoffeeRunner · 21/01/2019 21:07

Only a famous footballer. Well known anyway.

At one point DS was at school with his DS & his DD was my hairdresser.

sleepwhenidie · 21/01/2019 21:12

Yes. Not saying current ones but DS1 was at nursery with Moses Martin so Chris and Gwyneth regularly dropped off and picked up. Not the best to compare with at 9am - presentation wise Grin

carrie74 · 21/01/2019 21:16

Yes. Musicians and former TV personality.

NicolaStart · 21/01/2019 21:20

One of Dc’s school friends is famous.
There is a very famous parent, too.
Probably more, but those are the ones I know of.
A S London comp.

NicolaStart · 21/01/2019 21:20

The famous pupil and famous parent are not related.

mammmamia · 21/01/2019 21:21

Yes but who cares

CherryPavlova · 21/01/2019 22:11

Yes.

mummmy2017 · 21/01/2019 22:14

SIL... Is... Love it as she is trying too keep up with the parents... And comes over as an idiot....

bloopertrooper · 21/01/2019 22:15

My dd1 went to school with someone who occasionally had time off school to appear in EastEnders.

Such is fame Grin

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 21/01/2019 22:15

A footballer, I've never heard of him but dh was impressed because he plays for the team he follows.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/01/2019 22:16

Yes but I never know who anyone is. Apart from one smug git off the tv - I was busy explaining to DH why I thought he was such a smug git - yes, of course he (smug git) was standing behind me.

Me - why didn’t you tell me???
DH - oh that was him. I didn't recognise him from your impression.

Also rock god type who got up and sang at the school fete. I thought he was just a dad singing badly... 🤦‍♀️

MitziK · 21/01/2019 22:30

Somebody who was on a reality show. Kid could be quite sweet, parent was convinced everybody was impressed by the connection.

Even did the 'don't you know who I am?'.

'X's Parent'

'No, you know what I mean'

[blank stare, trying to think whether they'd been at the same school and they're really offended because they gave me their Mint Club on a school trip to the British Museum 25 years ago]

'Should I?'

[Parent storms off in a rage about my rudeness, I ask somebody else, they say the name and I'm none the wiser. They say the programme name.]

'Is that something on telly?'

[Get a quick rundown of the programme format.]

'Oh. Sounds shit. Never mind, I'm sure they'll get over themselves eventually'.

VonHerrBurton · 21/01/2019 22:49

Yup, 2 premiership footballers dc. Oh and a very sweet dd who's father is a soap 'star'. All nice kids actually although my dc were friends with soap-dd, not so much the footballers', as quite a few years younger. They are all very normal, keep heads down, come and go like, er, ordinary people! Not a sniff of 'do you know who I am?' God how awful that would be!

Knittedgnome · 22/01/2019 12:47

@sleepwhenidie Chris and Gwenny (as I liked to call her) are lovely aren't they? Always had a good old natter in the playground.
