Paypal and refunds

So, fgs, I bought something and instantly realised it was probably a scam (office software, way too cheap) but through PayPal.

Under distance selling i thought I could claim a refund but Paypal won't let me do anything other than contact the seller.

I have emailed them.

Can I cancel with my bank?

I received a refund today from PayPal from a company I purchased from. They were actually legit but the items took so long to send the items I got a full refund. PayPal makes you contact the seller first. They then have chance to try sort the issue. If not, you escalate it to a claim with PayPal. The seller then has 10 days to respond to PayPal and if no response or unsatisfactory you will get a refund
