Travelers on Netflix, is S4 being made?

I don't want to Google in case I see a spoiler for S4 rather than just confirmation of yes or no. I hope that makes sense.

I'm late to the game and after countless times of skipping past it I'm now hooked after binge watching S1-3 in the last two weeks.

The last episode of S3 has just finished and I feel stunned and lost. I think I'm just going to start watching the whole thing again.

The main reason I kept skipping it is that I could not imagine 'Will' as anyone else than Will. How wrong was I?

Eric McCormack as Grant MacLaren = massive fanny gallops crush. And David. And Trevor. And, I think, Marcy..

Any fans here? It's been a long while since I've enjoyed anything this much and I can't find a decent MN thread so I hope to get a reply!

I mean, hopefully but they literally only released series 3 last month and whilst that ending could lead to a new arc, it equally could serve as a series finale

I wouldn't expect a renewal or cancellation announcement for several months

BartonHollow · 21/01/2019 20:09

Huge fan by the way, but the ending seems to indicate if it does come back, neither Marcy or David will be in it anymore unless they do really unbelievable things to bring their characters into it

ICJump · 21/01/2019 20:11

If it does I think it has to be whole new set of characters.

That's great news. Thank you Barton Hollow.

It hadn't even occured to me that S3 was brand new. I just wanted more. Now Grin

Oh man, I hadn't even thought it could be a whole new team! I don't like the idea of that at all. Oh bloody hell, this is why I shouldn't get invested in things.

I've never seen S3 onwards of Homeland for similar reasons. Oh dear.

Oh no! David and Marcy on the bus. Was that giving us closure?

Look, here, they still meet and live happily ever after. Now forget about them because you'll never see them again.. ? Shock Shock

So...

Think.

The reason the timeline has changed is because when Grant went into the building on 9/11 meant that 001 wasn't sent back

Which in turn means Marcy wasn't experimented on and abused

Which means she didn't become learning disabled and homeless

Which means she didn't fall down the stairs and die

Which means she isn't a possible host for a Traveler

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/01/2019 20:33

I think the actor playing Trevor is excellent, he's playing the personality of the oldest man who has ever lived in the body of a teenage boy and I'm completely convinced that he is both of those things despite the actor himself being 30-ish.

So Macy and David had a happy ending, because Traveller 1 was never sent back so he didn't fry her brain, which ultimately lead to her death. But all the others must have still died, didn't they? Their deaths were genuinely random and unconnected to the traveller programme.

BartonHollow · 21/01/2019 20:34

Which is why I think all the other characters could return in a new series just not those two.

InterstellarGlitterBalls · 21/01/2019 20:37

Ah, but.. Marcy and David are together anyway in Bus World.. The Director has learnt that there can be issues with 'faulty' hosts.. these hosts are proven.. so somehow..

clutches at straws

I guess the Director still needs to do something as the initial problem at the start of series one (the asteroid heading towards the Earth) will still need to be dealt with somehow.

DareDevil223 · 21/01/2019 21:12

I hope so, it's one of my favourite programmes :)

BartonHollow · 02/02/2019 23:52

Graphista · 03/02/2019 00:21

Every time I get into a show it gets bloody cancelled!

Lie to me
Firefly
Pushing daisies
Heroes
Fringe
Life

And now this! Sad

InterstellarGlitterBalls · 11/02/2019 14:21

Noooooo! Another one to add to Firefly and Defying Gravity.

I'm sorry all, if I had never watched it this wouldn't have happened (possibly).

I agree with a lot of those Graphista but Fringe, much as I loved it, had pretty much reached the end of the line. Series four really felt like they were struggling for ideas. Series five was better, but it was quite a different storyline and only half a series.

CarolinePooter · 11/02/2019 16:51

I was sorry to see Travelers finish, it was good fun. I also enjoyed Continuum, featuring a female cop who travels back in time to modern Canada (again! Canada seems to have a lot of time travellers...) There was also a remake of the film Frequency, with the ahem haunted radio. Pretty daft really, but that has seldom stopped me watching things ;-)
