'Hit me with your rhythm stick'.

Belting it out in the car this morning including the immortal line 'it's nice to be alone a tick' only for Zoe Ball to (gleefully, in my opinion), say 'ahhh, Ian Drury nice to be a lunatic'.
Nice to be a lunatic? Really? I had imagined him enjoying a moment of solitude 😁

I am terrible for mishearing lyrics, but never for this long 😯

In my youth when I was learning English there was a song containing the line: "my ears are alight" which was obviously a very idiomatic expression otherwise it would make no sense ....
"The Israelites"

Not quite the same, but as a child I remember listening to the moody blues song ‘Nights in white satin’ and thinking that satin would make very substandard armour.
I was quite worried for them.
